Keynote Address Presented to Campfire Conference

The morning of January 10, 2018, Clark presented the keynote speech to the Campfire Conference at Blue Ridge Assembly to almost 200 Y Camp leaders/directors An anonymous benefactor was kind enough to purchase a book for each person in attendance!  Thanks Campfire Conference for a great time AND thanks to daughter, Christin, and friends, Marjorie and David Snow for making the trip to be with us.

CLARK IS PRESENTED WITH THE LEGENDS OF CAMPING AWARD

   On January 9, Clark was presented with the Legends of Camping Award for the work he’s done and the vision he’s had in the area of camping. As CEO of the Nashville Y, Clark began the Joe C. Davis Center that includes Camp Widjiwagan, and as CEO in Houston, Clark totally rebuilt Camp Cullen.  This award s rarely given—the last was in 2015 and the one before that in 2010.  Clark felt humbled to receive this honor.

Clark returns to Indianapolis—His Hoosier Home State

October 19th brought a wonderful opportunity for Clark to speak to an Indiana Y Leadership conference.  Indianapolis CEO, Eric Ellsworth, was a splendid host who made us feel “at home”.  The crowd was attentive and friendly.  The books I brought to sell at the conference sold out!  Thanks to Eric and his staff for such a superb visit.

Clark to Present in New Orleans NAYDO 2018 Conference–

Clark was selected to present at the NAYDO Conference (North American YMCA Development Organization) in New Orleans.  On April 24th at 5:15 pm, Clark will speak at a Pre-Conference session titled: Fifty Years of Fundraising Wisdom.  On Wednesday, April 25, he will participate in the Young Professionals Mentoring Session of Round B Hot Topics.  Hope to see many of you in New Orleans.http://conference.naydo.org

Camp Widji Wins Facebook Poll….in the end, BOTH camps win

Congratulations to Camp Widjiwagan who had the most favored votes on Facebook.  The poll brought attention to two outstanding YMCA camps:  Camp Widjiwagan in Nashville and Camp Cullen in Houston.  Camp Widji won with 58.7% of the votes.
